Re: Lets get this ball rollin...favorite songs?
Tue, August 10, 2004 - 5:32 PMNever been a huge fan of Muscoviet Mosquito. It sounds more like demo (raw) material than the full-formed sound I love, but I guess that's the point isn't it?
Most of my absolute favorite work is from the Clan of Xymox album, with "No Words" or "Cry in The Wind" being all time faves.
I've got a few photos I took of them performing in Belgium at The Invitation music festival earlier this year in the picture section of my profile :) -

Tue, August 10, 2004 - 6:22 PMI kinda like Muscoviet Mosquito, it shows that COX wasn't just a bunch of mopes...it really stood out on LONELY IS AN EYESORE, the 4AD comp on which it first appeared.
Hmmmm.....my fave Xymox tunes.....I gotta say LOUISE...man, it's heartwrenching, but beautiful. I always spin that one when I DJ.
Also, IMAGINATION, great dark synth pop, fantastic female vocals.
Of the later stuff, THIS WORLD and JASMINE & ROSE are pretty rad.

Re: Lets get this ball rollin...favorite songs?
Wed, August 11, 2004 - 10:57 AMThe lyrics to CREATURE really helped me achieve a turning point after a painful breakup. Sort of sel-serving I suppose, but helped me see that maybe I had been treated harshly and that I didn't deserve that coldness - and in fact maybe I had overlooked hurtful aspects of that person's nature simply because I found her novel
I'll believe than that you're dead
First I felt bitter, I made amends
But I see you in a new light
You only have my contempt
So I'll believe than that you're dead
Second you're a loser, I spit on pretence
And I begin to wonder, and I begin to understand
That, you're a creature that breeds it's kind and dies

Mon, January 10, 2005 - 7:00 PMFor me, it'd be Medusa's "Back Door", hands down.
That song still sends chills down my spine!
Jasmine and Rose comes in close second, for different
reasons.

Re: Lets get this ball rollin...favorite songs?
Sun, October 30, 2005 - 3:38 PMI agree... Back Door is a beautiful, beautiful song. I could cry listening to it every time! Along with many of their songs.. it's why I love Clan of Xymox... the heart-wrenching beauty of some of their songs.. I love the wordless ones too.
On a lighter note, I love "B Who U Wanna B" ---hehehe kinda cute and inspiring to me... and some cool rockin songs off of Headclouds like "Prophesy" and "The Beginning." I like that album. I like 'em all. Least favorite has gotta be Phoenix, but oh well, I'd listen to it over some other stuff anyhow ;)
I love Xymox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're one of the few bands that I actually own all of their stuff, and I have a lone Xymox sticker on my car now, too :) -

Sun, November 6, 2005 - 10:53 AMI agree about Headclouds - I haven't listened to it in a while, thanks for reminding me! And, as far as rockin' albums go, I love Farewell, especially listining to it while driving, turned up real lound. "Courageous" is awsome.
